Therapy can be an intimidating process. It can sometimes make you feel a bit worse before it aids you in feeling better. The process of unlearning the unhealthy survival instincts that are no longer serving you can be raw and scary. It is crucial that your partner in this process approaches your efforts with compassion, understanding, and unfettered truth. As a clinician, I strive to ensure that there is a robust and healthy therapeutic rapport between me and my clients. Above all else, it is trusting and a non-judgmental atmosphere that allows us to be our most authentic selves in therapy.
The modalities of therapy that I typically employ are CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and strength-based therapy. With these techniques in mind, I work with clients on their anxiety, depression, PTSD, and self-esteem. I work well with clients who are within the LGBTQIA+ community and practice zero tolerance for any type of discrimination.
I believe that my job as a therapist is to help be that little voice of reason in your head until you are confident enough to find your own voice. It is my hope that each of my clients feel emboldened to be authentically themselves and confident in their own decision-making.
